OMAC 1 (2011)

The character O.M.A.C. has received his one series in The New 52 line up over at DC Comics. This comic is written by Dan Didio with art from Keith Giffen. This as well as  a few other comics that are being released haven't really had independent series or books too often. OMAC actually always seemed to be a tough character to me for writing because essentially it is an Artificial Intellegence that takes over a human host, or a cyber version of a werewolf if you will.

Dan Didio has not been writing for quite a while since having to deal with the company day to day runnings. It shows in this comic. His writing seems a little amateurish and dumbed down. He does seem to put in some aspects to get a character built but to me at least they are failing terribly. This comic, as of right now, is one of them that should have been left on the cutting room floor and not even attempted.

Art wise, Keith Giffen seems to have kind of phoned it in on this. You can easily tell it his art which is a good thing. At the same time however I get the feeling he just scribbled the pages down and sent in as is. It doesn't seem like he cared enough to put heart into this book, and I can't blame him on that because I really don't have the heart to read it. Hi-Fi is responsible for the coloring and it is decent enough coloring. It looks liek it is a comic from the '80s to me with the colors and hasty artwork.

This is one comic that seems to have really missed the mark. I couldn't get into the story at all yet I will read and review continuously in hopes to save others money or to inform you of improvements. I would recommend leaving this one on the shelf and going to get  a few sodas instead.

Until next time Peace Out
